How do I order Prescription lenses in my frames?
All frames including sunglasses and optical frames can be customized with clear or sun-tinted prescription lenses. Simply head to the product page that you are looking to purchase, click the button "Select RX lenses" and follow the prompts to select your lenses & input your prescription. We do require a current valid prescription with your order and by submitting your prescription information, you certify that it is current (date on issuance of prescription is within 1 year of the date your order is being placed) and prescribed by an authorized optometrist (with their name, address, and signature on the prescription).
What is a Pupillary Distance & How do I calculate it?
In order for your lenses to be fitted accurately, your pupillary distance ("PD") is required as one of the steps in completing your online order. Your pupillary distance is the distance between the centre of your 2 pupils. You can either request this from you optometrist, or you can measure it at home using various PD apps online, or with a ruler. To measure your pupillary distance with a ruler, follow these steps:

Do you offer Progressive Lenses?
At this time, we are only customizing our frames online with single vision lens prescriptions for either clear optical or sun-tinted lenses.
To customize with progressive lenses, please bring our frames to your local independent optical store to have those fitted in.
Please stay tuned to our website and newsletter should we expand into offering progressive lenses.
What happens after I make an online order of prescription frames?
After you have completed the checkout process and payment has gone through, you should receive a confirmation of payment and receipt with your Order ID number via email. Please print a copy of the receipt as confirmation of your payment. You will also receive an email from Kaytran Eyewear confirming your order and indicating that we will process the order as soon as possible.
Orders for prescription eyewear are typically fulfilled and shipped out within 12 business days after they are placed online as the lenses are being prepared by the dispensing lab. When your order has been shipped, we will send you an email to notify you when your order has been shipped along with a tracking # so you can track your delivery through our carrier’s website. On average, orders are received within 5 to 14 business days of that shipment date if you selected standard shipping within North America. If you’d like us to check the status of your package, please email us at help@kaytran.com with your order number and tracking number.

Do you direct-bill to my insurance provider?
If you have health spending account ("HSA") credits or insurance coverage for glasses or sunglasses, or prescription lenses, most of our customers supply the order confirmation / receipt of their purchase and submit via a manual claim to obtain their allotted reimbursement. We do not direct bill to insurance providers, and are not involved in this process.
Please ensure you have checked with your insurance provider in advance to confirm what coverage you have, as every provider is different.

Is ordering prescription eyewear from Kaytran different from ordering non-prescription eyewear?
Kaytran is an eyewear frame design and retail company and does not engage in the preparation, dispensing, shipping or arranging for the delivery of prescription eyewear (“Prescription Eyewear”). Kaytran works with Dr. Lens Change Inc., a lens laboratory based in Coquitlam, British Columbia (or such other authorized lens laboratory situated in British Columbia, Canada as may be appointed from time to time) (collectively, the “B.C. Lab”) to fill any Prescription Eyewear order.
When you make an order for Prescription Eyewear, Kaytran orders the Prescription Eyewear on your behalf from the B.C. Lab. The B.C. Lab has/will have a stock of Kaytran’s frames and will review your prescription information and prepare and dispense the eyewear using Kaytran’s frames. Most orders from the B.C. Lab are shipped by it within 12 business days of being ordered. The B.C. Lab ships the Prescription Eyewear directly to you. Only customers located in Canada or the United States of America may make an Order for Prescription Eyewear through the site.
